Psion Series 5 [Needs more work...]

[CAUTION!]If you have any questions about the Psion Series 5, please read your manual and the Frequently Asked Questions list (also known as the FAQ) first, before asking your question to me, in one of the comp.sys.psion.* newsgroups or to anyone else. Thank you very much...

[Psion Series 5] What is a Psion 5?

The Psion 5 is a very sophisticated Personal Data Assistent (also known as PDA, "electronic agenda" or organizer, among many other things) made by Psion PLC. I own a Psion 5 myself and I really like it because of what it can do and how it can do it (and not just because you can play games on it too!).

Even though there are more different series of Psion organizers (like the many versions of the Series 3 and the Sienna) all the information you will find on this page will be for the Series 5 only. The simple reason for this is that this is the only kind of Psion device I ever owned.

Psion 5 information by me

Unlike the HP48 section on this site, this page is really all but empty right now. I use my Psion extensively every day, but haven't found much time to get as proficient with it as I have become with my HP48.

I'm still taking my first rudimentary steps in OPL. It does not look like a difficult language at all, it's just that I work now and am no longer a student able to work my Psion 5 on the bus to university and during boring lectures (like I did with my HP48). So it will probably be a while before anything interesting starts to appear here.

Glad you stopped by. Be sure to check back here occasionally. You never know when my first EPOC32 program will be available here. I'm occasionally working on a port of one of my HP48 programs as an exercise in OPL32..

Third-party EPOC information

I also keep a few selected links to other Psion 5 and EPOC resources on the net, mainly for my own use:

* The Psion newsgroups: announce, applications, communication, marketplace, miscellaneous, programmer, reviews, binaries
* PsionKing (part of PDA Central)
* Symbian
* Go32
* PsiPrice, where to get it cheapest
